What is the difference between products that are made for profit and products that are made to benefit others?

Products that are made for profit are made with the intent of the best possible success of the company, which will generate the most money. A product that is meant to benefit people, is one that is created for the benefit of the customer. The most affordable price, what reviews are sent in. Help people with such a basic tool, but can make a difference.

Research the pros/cons of developing a product that is made for profit vs a product that is made to benefit others. Provide an example of each type of product.

A product that is made strictly for profit is most notably drug prices. With no competition, the manufacturer is allowed to price it however they please. This is the definition of pure greed. On the other hand, there is costplusdrugs.com, a site owned by Mark Cuban, where he pays for the overpriced drug so you do not have to. The website is a pure idea made for the benefit of others. To help limit the exploitation of overpriced drugs.
